Jamie Hardman Loving, Founder and Partner
Jamie founded her own CPA practice in 2005, and has been serving small and growing businesses ever since. Jamie began her career as an auditor with an international accounting firm where her efforts were focused on growth-oriented businesses preparing for and commencing initial public offerings. She led the fieldwork in a wide array of industries, including software, biotech, professional services, manufacturing, and not-for-profit. Subsequently, she was a Manager in the Corporate Accounting department of Host Marriott where she coordinated the preparation of SEC filings. She was then recruited to serve as Controller for a $500 million real estate partnership and saw them through an incredibly successful exit. Upon the liquidation of the real estate partnership, Jamie formed her own practice, where she currently works with clients in an array of industries including professional services, retail, real estate and not-for-profit.
Jamie graduated with honors from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting with Special Attainments in Commerce. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
James (Jamie) W. Loving, Jr., Founder and Partner
Jamie began his career as an auditor with an international accounting firm, in the firm’s technology practice. During his tenure there, Jamie worked for numerous clients in a wide variety of industries including software, IT services, telecommunications, government contracting and not-for-profit. Jamie helped to take three companies public, and worked on numerous financings and SEC filings. In addition, he performed financial and accounting due diligence on a number of acquisitions for his clients. In 2000, Jamie was recruited by his client, Blue Water Capital, a venture capital firm, to join them as Controller. During his tenure with Blue Water, Jamie rose from Controller to Chief Financial Officer. Jamie oversaw all aspects of finance and administration for Blue Water, and also worked closely with the management teams of more than 15 companies. In this capacity, Jamie assisted with financial due diligence, policies and procedures, hiring of personnel, the structuring of mergers and sales, as well as serving as a Board Member and Board Observer on several companies. Prior to founding J. Loving & Company, Jamie worked for Square 1 Bank in the capacity of Vice President and Director. In this role he served as the head of the Mid-Atlantic Region and served as a lender and banker to more than a dozen venture backed clients and built a successful and profitable practice in less than three years.
He graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
